It was a proud podium moment for our speedy student Kuan Jun Han (Year 11-1), who put in a stunning performance on the track to take the Gold medal in the 800m (Male) U-18 category at the MSSWPKL Track & Field Event, held today in Seri Permaisuri Mini Stadium, Cheras.

Kuan Jun Han, one of SJIS’ star athletes, has been competing for several years. He has been part of the SJIS Track & Field team for the last three years and has shown significant improvement in his performances since he started, maturing into a very confident and competent athlete. Jun Han’s hero is the most successful British track athlete in modern Olympic Games history, Sir Mohamed “Mo” Farah, who is celebrated for his hard work, sacrifice and dedication to his sport. Much like his hero, Kuan Jun Han has always been prepared to “go that extra mile” – quite literally – in his training and practice.

This victory wasn’t a fluke, either – our “Golden Boy” won a Silver medal in the same MSSWPKL Track & Field Event last year. Having stepped up a place on the podium this year, Jun Han has proven his dominance over the 800m distance.

SJIS is exceptionally proud of our high-achieving athlete, and we look forward to sharing more success stories from on and off the field in 2019!
