National Bird Day is marked annually on January 5th as the world is filled with many different species of birds, and National Bird Day has been dedicated to raising awareness about bird conservation.

As of August 2020, St. John’s International Primary and Secondary School have adopted the rhinoceros hornbill as part of the Zoo Negara’s wildlife sponsorship programme.

The hornbills, which the Dayaks believe, symbolises the spirit of god. Kiki the Hornbill is a fitting partner to the mythical bird that represents the school’s strong values of pride and determination.
